  • Colorful Grand Prismatic Spring with steam rising, Yellowstone National Park

Mother Nature’s most vivid masterpiece. Yellowstone doesn’t just impress, it stuns.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are of family vacations—trips to Disneyland, Lake Powell, and the breathtaking National Parks in Southern Utah. We also explored Canada and Mexico, always seeking something new and different. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong love of travel in me. I loved hitting the road and discovering new places, people, and cultures.

In my early twenties, I lived in Andalucía, Southern Spain, for two years, and to this day, Spain holds a special place in my heart. I’ve managed to keep my Spanish fluent, and yes, I do speak with that famous Andalusian accent. We’ve been back to Spain several times, and it’s always at the top of my list of destinations.

Ever since those early trips, wanderlust has been in my blood. The joy of exploring new places, meeting people, and savoring local cuisine—especially street food—has become part of who I am. Don’t even get me started on the Hawker Centres in Singapore or the 7-Eleven stores across Asia. Those places have their own kind of charm.

Fast forward to today: we've visited 47 countries and 6 continents, with only Antarctica left to check off. According to the interwebs, that puts us in the top 4% of travelers in terms of places visited, though we’ve seen only 19% of the world so far. We’re really just getting started, and we can’t wait to keep going.

Sailing into golden hour. The perfect end to a day of coastal exploration.

  • Couple standing in the Dubai desert during a golden-hour safari

From city skyline to windswept dunes, Dubai’s desert is pure cinematic magic.

There’s no shortage of "young" travel content creators—those hiking volcanoes, living in Bali after quitting their day jobs (after a few years of “adulting,” haha), and exploring countries on a shoestring budget. That’s not us. We’re huge fans of slow, luxurious travel, and I know we’re not alone in that category. We hope you’ll find value in what we do.

Now, it's important to note that, for us, luxury doesn’t mean always staying in five-star hotels or flying first-class on every flight. Luxury for us is mixing in a few fancy touches along the way, like special hotels or upgrading our flight experiences when it makes sense. Do we always stay in a Ritz-Carlton? No. In fact, I’ve never stayed at one (yet!). Do we always fly first-class? Only if we have points and miles available, and it's a great deal. More often than not, you’ll find us in economy class, hoping for a Comfort+ upgrade. But when the opportunity is there, we take advantage of it.

Champagne, lie-flat seats, and the soft glow of luxury. Yes, points and miles made this moment happen.

  • Aerial view of downtown Dubai skyline from Burj Khalifa observation deck

From the top of the world, this jaw-dropping view from Burj Khalifa never gets old.

Just recently, we flew Emirates Business Class from Singapore to Dubai, and then from Dubai to Los Angeles after spending four days in Dubai. Thanks to points and miles, we managed to do this for just a few hundred dollars. We also stayed at The Edition Dubai, a high-end hotel in the Marriott family. We used points for that too, and even used one of our five annual Suite "Nightly Upgrade Awards" to get a free upgrade to a suite. And let me tell you, THAT upgrade was something to remember. We had a beautiful patio suite overlooking the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, just across the street. Points and miles are an amazing tool. Once you get the hang of them, they’re easy to earn through credit card purchases, sign-up bonuses, and special promotions.

So, will you see photos of us enjoying Emirates Business Class, sipping drinks at the fancy bar on the A-380, and eating in the massive Business Class Lounge in Dubai? Absolutely. Will you see us relaxing in upgraded suites in Japan and Dubai? You bet. But will you also see us staying in "normal" hotels and flying economy class? Definitely. In fact, Teresa and I have never purchased a first-class ticket. For domestic flights, if we get an upgrade, great. If not, we’re perfectly happy in economy. For international flights, where upgrades are rare, we buy economy tickets and hope for a Comfort+ upgrade. The only business or first-class tickets we buy are with points and miles. I’m not crazy enough to spend $5,000–$20,000 on a plane ticket when I don’t have to.

What you’ll get from us is a mix of luxurious lodging and flights, combined with practical, middle-of-the-road accommodations and experiences. Plus, we’ll share tips on how to make all of this possible, and how to maximize your money and time as you explore the world.

So, join us as we venture out across this wide, wonderful world.
